Why is Immune-Assist called a
second-generation immunomodulator? The
first generation of immunomodulators scientifically recognized was a
polysaccharide-based compound derived from mushrooms. Polysaccharides are very complex sugars,
which come in many different structural arrangements. An example of this class of
